I have no HD-TV as of yet, nor do I have a HD-DVD player, so I can only comment about the first three Die Hards on standard DVD. (I have the 2001 2-disc 5-Star sets.)

I like Die Hard (1988) and Die Hard With a Vengeance (1995) far better than I like Die Hard 2: Die Harder (1990). That one is okay and has its moments, but if you look at it objectively, it's basically a rehash of the first movie, albeit with a higher body count. The third movie has the same basic formula but is improved by the change in setting and the casting of Jeremy Irons as the guest villain and Samuel L. Jackson as the buddy, plus Jonathan Hensleigh's smart script.

I have heard that the Die Hard movies on HDDVD are awesome. I may have to check them out myself. I've only seen the first two Die Hards, so not only do I want to see the ones that I have not seen, but I HAVE to see them in HD. I don't know, but for some reason I never really wanted to see the third, but I have been salivating to see the 4th.... just never got the chance. I think watching them in order is probably the way to go. Nice screen shots by the way. I'd much rather watch the Die Hard movies than the usual (boring) Christmas Classics (bah humbug).
