Mibbit Chat – ALL FIXED

Yeah, we had a little glitch with the hub (see http://vbirc.com blog for details). But the new hub is back, AND, I had an email from mibbit to update their IP address on our allow list. We were removed from the dropdown list. But .. after a quick update to our config files, rebuilding some of our setup and emailing mibbit and getting a quick reply within the hour, … it’s all good again. We’re back and properly listed.

If you go to mibbit.com you can click on server drop down and select ours (vbirc network on irc.vbirc.com) and join #chat or any other channel. Secondly, you can manually enter our irc host irc.vbirc.com and get onto our network. And finally.. any web site that wants to use the network for free and have their own channels (or just join ours) can set up a widget on their own web site (integrated with their design or not) and point it to our network on irc.vbirc.com and whatever channel (and it will then auto connect for their site members).

irc.vbirc.com is the hub, going to it makes you end up on any of our leaf servers : irc.vbirc.com, irc.vbirc.org or irc.vbirc.net .. etc.

The web chat and widget chat has been fixed, our hub is fixed, and we’re ready to chat.. 1 minute after it was all fixed, 150+ users joined the network and jumped into their channels and continued like nothing happened. What an awesome bunch of users!
