I spoil myself when I have done something worth spoiling myself over. If I finally get a difficult asana perfected, I buy myself some new Yoga pants from either Gaiam or Victoria's Secret. If I've had a damn good semester, I treat myself to a holiday or a weekend at an arcade. Things like that. ^_^

First of all, I have to say that I absolutely adore the photo of the dog. I'm a huge animal lover, and he or she is just so adorable! It made me smile, and that's a big deal. I love the advice and message of this blog. It's spot on!

I spoil myself from time to time, after years of going without I started to figure if I don't take care of me who will? If I have something major completed I go out for a nice meal or buy myself something I love.

For some reason, in this day and age, we forget to take care of ourselves. Your article hit home for me because my wife is constantly telling me to make some time for me instead of always being a worker, husband and father. She always tells me that I need some "me" time so I can recharge the batteries which is pretty much what you have said. The challenge for me is trying to find something that I can enjoy. I used to do a lot of fishing but the area I live has become crowded and it's a challenge to find a quiet spot but I really do need to spoil myself every now and then. Thanks for the reminder.

Nice post. Lots of common sense as you tagged it, but for some reason common sense seems to be all to easy to forget. Spoiling yourself with tools to help you with a job or a hobby is probably the best advice I've seen or heard so far this year, and as you tagged it, common sense. Lots of things here worth remembering. Don't think it matters if it's something expensive or cheap, or even free, as long as you can get something good out of it!

Nice post and I'm looking forward to the next post!

I can afford a few luxuries in life. I just buy myself artbooks from various Japanese artists when I have some money to spend. That may not seem like much, but some of these artists are amazing, and having high-resolution versions of their art is well worth the money.

Because I'm not exactly wealthy or even financially stable, I can't really spoil myself too often or in a big way. Nevertheless, I do treat myself in some of the ways you suggest. For instance, you say that if there's something that makes working at something you love easier to get it, I have done that.

I am not in the movie business (yet), but I have always wanted to write a screenplay. If you have ever seen a real one (and not one included in a book along the lines of The Art of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith) you know that the formatting of one is tricky, with each of the various elements done in a particular fashion Now. if you are good with Word or any word processing program and know how to customize tab settings, it's probably not hard to approximate screenplay format settings, but I'm not that gifted, so until I decided to splurge and buy a copy of Write Brothers' Movie Magic Screenwriter, I had no way of making my dream of becoming a script writer true.
