TV Recommendations April ’09

The last week I have been talking to a few friends on Skype, IRC, MSN and Twitter about watching television shows, and I was kind of surprised that people who love to watch TV are sometimes missing the greatest shows.

Yes, of course it is quite possible my taste in TV is just not matching theirs or I just watch too many TV series. But still, so .. here is my recommendation to my readers for the month April 2009; please, if you can, give the following shows a try if you like drama with good arcs, characters, plots, and unique enough approach to keep things interesting:

Rescue Me

Breaking Bad

And to ensure you will be surprised by the show, please start with season 01, episode 01; and please accept my apology for not giving any information about these shows at all .. Just, give them a try. Who knows, maybe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Don’t forget to post back with a comment to this blog what you thought about it. And if you like and want to discuss either show with more detail, please come check out my Television Community http://wetalk.tv

You know, Floris, I really should try to watch Rescue Me; it’s offered over basic cable, unlike the first runs of The Sopranos or Band of Brothers, which were shown on that premium cable channel HBO. My problem regarding watching any of the really good basic cable/broadcast shows is that I now don’t watch too much TV; I have one to three shows that I’ll watch and the evening news, but most of the time I’m on the Net, writing reviews and whatnot.

I’m not sure if it’s still airing, but if you can get a chance to watch Code Geass, then by God watch it. I’ve seen a lot of anime and Code Geass has a high spot on my list. Political drama is win, end of story.

This comment is a bit late for April. Never the less, I’m responding. I actually haven’t watched either of those shows. I’ve considered Rescue Me, but I’m not sure I’d really like the style or not. Dennis Leary is someone I’m leery of watching. I don’t recall what I was watching in April, but in June, I’m waiting for the return of The Cleaner on A&E.
